Head Coach, Junior Program

Coach Alex Walters is a 2006 Industrial Design graduate of the DAAP program at the University of Cincinnati.  He rowed throughout college, in his Senior year he helped lead the Bearcats to 7-2 record, qualification for ECAC National Invitational and the programs first appearance at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta, in Henley-on-Thames, England.

Following graduation, Coach Alex coached with the University of Cincinnati as Head Freshman Coach as well teaching courses through the DAAP program. In 2007, he led the Freshman to one of the best seasons to date.  In 2008, he assumed the role of Novice Women's coach while working as a freelance designer.In 2009, he joined the Greater Dayton Junior Rowing program as Assistant Coach and helped to lead the team to a 3rd place finish in the Senior Women's 4x at Club Nationals. In 2010 he was selected as the Head Coach of the Greater Dayton junior rowing program. Under his direction, the Greater Dayton juniors have already posted at least one top three finish in 8 out of 11 events raced for the 2010 fall race season.

Coach Alex is a USRowing Level III certified coach and is current on his US Boating Safety and Clean Water, in addition to, American Red Cross CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certifications.

Alex lives in Lebanon with his wife Rebecca, and two dogs Amos and Gideon. He and his wife are expecting their first child in April of 2011.
